The Client:

Our client is a leading Managed IT & Cyber Security Provider with a mission to transform organisations with cutting-edge Microsoft technologies. They require an experienced Microsoft Collaboration Architect on a contract basis where you will help shape and lead on a wide range of client engagements. The role will focus on creating, designing, and developing solutions using the latest technologies for SharePoint Online, Teams, and Microsoft 365 products.

What’s involved:

  • Engage with clients and run workshops to understand business requirements and devise the most effective way of meeting those requirements.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to help persuade and guide decision makers towards the most effective course of action.
  • Devise programmes of work and high-level designs to achieve specific technical objectives (such as migrating file shares to SharePoint Online), complete with effort estimates, typically as an output of a discovery exercise.
  • Create robust and compelling documentation.
  • Design and implement logical and effective site and team structures and artefacts in SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
  • Design and build information capture and process automation solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Create, configure and deploy SharePoint assets in a robust and repeatable way.
  • Run migrations of content from other platforms to SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
  • Use scripting and automation to apply updates and changes.
  • Maintain awareness of and follow company procedures and guidelines, including security, regulatory and quality related matters.
  • Comply with all relevant legislative and legal requirements, including industry regulations, employment law, Data Protection and Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that promote our values.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.

What’s needed:

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 collaboration architecture (SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 groups, Microsoft Teams)
  • Creating and configuring SharePoint document management and list assets (e.g. site columns, content types, libraries, policies, custom formatting)
  • Familiarity with modern SharePoint site templating approaches using site scripts and site designs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Creating and configuring Power Apps forms and apps (canvas apps)
  • Creating and configuring process automations (Power Automate or Logic Apps)
  • Familiarity with SharePoint REST API and Microsoft Graph API
  • Solid understanding of modern SharePoint architecture best practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams architecture and provisioning
  • Experience of migration methodologies and tools (e.g. Sharegate, Microsoft Mover, Migration Manager)
  • Some scripting ability (PowerShell)

Advantageous Skills:

  • Familiarity with SharePoint PnP (PowerShell, provisioning templates)
  • Familiarity with Azure AD and governance controls (conditional access, group lifecycle management, etc.)
  • Understanding of customisation options for modern SharePoint sites
  • Familiarity with custom connectors for Power Platform
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Compliance solutions (e.g. information protection, information classification, data loss prevention)
  • Familiarity with legacy versions of SharePoint (2010 onwards)
